- How did you get involved in the CSO Center and what is your role on the Board?
- I've been a member of ASIS International since 1991. I was affiliated with the chapters in Saudi Arabia. Thereafter, I became active in the Benelux Chapter, where I was Chapter Vice Chair and later Chair, I've been a member of the CSO Center since 2018 and joined the board in 2022 together with fellow board member Mark Landry and with the support of Carla, I'm responsible for the organization of the twice monthly CSO Huddle.
- What are the main areas in security that you are most passionate about?
- Areas of attention for security professionals keep expanding. So I must keep up my professional development in areas such as risk and threat analysis, travel risk management, personal and corporate security investigations and crisis preparedness and response. The geopolitical risk analysis work that I do is something that I particularly enjoy. I sit on the Executive Protection Standard Technical Committee and working on the development of an EP standard is interesting and enjoyable as well.
- Why is the CSO Center critical in your success as a senior security executive?
- Security leaders know that quality networks are crucial in times of need. You can't know at all and you can't have immediate access to the right resources all the time across the globe. True security leaders understand this and are always willing to lend their support. That's a unique characteristic of our industry. Senior security leaders come together in the CSO Center to exchange information and to lend a hand as needed. I find it irreplaceable and highly recommend eligible individuals to seek admission to the CSO Center.
- What is a fun fact about you that you want to share?
- Join the CSO huddles regularly, meet me at GSX and I'll tell you.
