- Please tell us your story! How did you get involved with Compeer?
- Hi, I'm Erin. I've been a social activities volunteer with Coere for about a year now, and I absolutely love it. It has been a very rewarding experience. I was originally drawn to volunteering at Com Here because of their mission of supporting mental wellness through friendships and community, which I just thought was really cool to be a part of.
- How did Compeer make things different for you?
- Compe has really made things different for me because it has really reminded me how important it is to connect with others, and being a part of a program that really focuses on that, on friendship and supporting each other has helped me to feel less alone and just more hopeful, not just for myself, but for others as well.
- What was your life like before you were involved with Compeer?
- Before I joined Comp here, I was searching for my own community and a way to kind of get involved and help people. I had experienced my own mental health challenges and feelings of loneliness, and it was very helpful to have people there for me during those times. So I wanted to be there for others who were experiencing similar feelings.
- What is your life like now that you are involved with Compeer?
- Since getting involved with Comp here, I feel a lot more connected to people, and I've learned a lot about myself as well. I really feel like I'm helping to make a difference.

- What do you think it is about Compeer that has made this difference in your life?
- What's made the biggest difference for me during my time at Com here is definitely the people. The staff is incredibly encouraging and very welcoming. They make everyone feel very seen and valued, and they just want everyone to feel like they belong. And the Coi members have also impacted me a lot. I've learned a lot from them, and they've all just been very friendly, open, and it's been great hearing about their lives and the stories they have.
- How has Compeer changed your life?
- Being a volunteer for Comp here has definitely changed my life. It has given me a purpose through helping others and forming connections. It's also helped me to build confidence, especially in working with different people at social activities. And also through my experience at Comp here, I have realized that I want to pursue my career as a social worker and continue to help people um in many more ways. So thank you Com here.
