- Introduce yourself.
- Hi, there. My name is Alyssa Trask and I'm a life coach who specializes in burnout recovery. I got married on 02/02/2022 to my husband. So many twos. No pun intended. We currently have two dogs, and I just really enjoy being outside in nature, being in the pool, going to the beach. Anything to do with relaxation is my specialty. I am a graduate of the University of South Florida with a behavioral science degree. I used to be a parole officer in my early twenties and that has evolved to my life coaching practice. I also have certifications in holistic nutrition, personal training, anything with learning about myself. Like I'm very intrigued with just learning about myself, other humans and how to create automatic havoc and also just a freaking balanced life. Like who's with me on that.
- Tell us what you do.
- I'm a life coach who specializes in burnout recovery. So the three pillars in my coaching practice for burnout recovery is boundaries, balance and breaks. When we're able to bring these three pillars to our everyday life, we feel more. We're energized internally and externally connected to the people that matter the most and really just enjoying life in a different space: one of disconnecting from work, disconnecting what people want from you, just disconnecting with all the to-do list and reconnecting with what truly matters to you. My practice started because I burnt myself out all in my twenties. And I was always like, "What is wrong with me?" I never was asking myself, "What am I learning about myself?" I never listen to my gut, my intuition. I'm always, always listening to what other people wanted from me. And then one day I realized this big key, I get to decide my life and my life is going to be a life without burnout, and a life of truly enjoying the moment because it's not guaranteed tomorrow. Like, right now is all that we have. And I want this message of "We're not recovered" to being one that's not so daunting, and that can be fun to speak about in a way that we all can relate, because I keep doing all these researches about burnout and I keep getting conflicting numbers, 60 to 80% of Americans are burnt out. So let's start talking about it and fixing to the solution.
- Tell us about your signature talk.
- My signature talk is for high-achieving women who are going through burnout. And the way I like to explain burnout recovery is with the three pillars. What boundaries are, defining balance and creating breaks. And through my talks, I like to bring the audience into it, asking the questions, engaging and really showcasing that we all define all these things in our life. But sometimes we get disconnected to them, and that's from our work, from our families, from what people are just expecting from us. But I like to teach the audience that the most important relationship you will ever have is with yourself. So let's start having the conversation of trusting our intuition to taking the breaks that we need to take, to refuel our mind, body and soul, and to feel balanced without having to compromise our boundaries.
