- What do you tell students who are worried about finding dogs to complete the assignments?
- I primarily work with individual and employer sponsored students, which means oftentimes my students do not work in a salon and are actually working a full-time non-grooming related job and working on Paragon on their off days. Of course, the obvious answer is your friends and your family. But the other thing that I advise often is to go into your local Facebook groups. They have a lot of I sale groups, um, and make posts, work your social media. Um, and there's also a website called Nextdoor.com that has neighborhood specific groups. Usually students will have a lot of luck posting in these local groups. Because people love free or discounted things. Um, the other option that I usually suggest will be contact, uh, your local rescues, your local humane associations, and even if there are breeders in your area, they may want that extra help of bathing and brushing the pets and getting haircuts. Um, so usually with these suggestions, students have good luck sourcing all the pets that they need for our program.
