- How did you get involved in the CSO Center and what is your role on the Board?
- I got involved with the CSO Center after getting promoted in my previous organization to a CSO role. And in discussing with a colleague about the promotion at GSX, he mentioned the CSO Center and how it had benefited him. I checked it out and realized it was a great place to network with peers and increased my knowledge. And so I quickly joined and decided I want to be on the board since being on the board, I volunteered to be a co-chair of the content committee, which is my current role.
- What are the main areas in security that you are most passionate about?
- I'm very passionate about security operations. I enjoy running a team running the nitty gritty, the the nuts and bolts of how the security operates and and the layout and scope of the security team. I'm also very passionate about the threat assessment aspect and risk mitigation that comes along with security and I truly am passionate about developing education and applying that through the organization. I think that's comparative to the success of a security organization and that really is is part of my passion in dealing with security.
- Why is the CSO Center critical in your success as a senior security executive?
- The CSO Center is crucial to my success as a security executive, as it allows me to stay on the cutting edge of problems being faced by security, networking with peers being involved in huddles, looking at new articles coming out, it keeps me informed up to speed and educated on the security problems that we're facing as well as the future problems that are anticipated to be faced. So it's really been crucial to keeping me informed and abreast of the security industry.
- What is a fun fact about you that you want to share?
- A fun fact for me is, I really enjoy camping. Maybe it's the military and the Marine Corps instilled that in me, I guess. But, I've restored two vintage campers with my family, two 1967 campers. But after staying in one for three months when I moved out to Colorado, I have since decided to upgrade my camper, but I really did enjoy, the vintage camping scene and the restoration of those campers.
