- Hi, I'm Kevin Slimp. I'm coming to you from my office in Knoxville, Tennessee right now. But I just returned from your state. Yeah, from Colorado. I was in Arizona, California and Colorado up until two days ago. Matter of fact, I was in Arizona for 123 degrees. Yes, I saw it myself. Hey, I'm going to be with you in Colorado at your convention in September. Really. Looking forward to it. You know, I've spoken at more than 1000 newspaper conventions over the years. Hard to believe those of you that have been around for a while. Remember me as the PDF guru a long time ago back when I developed what we now call the PDF printing system and, uh, doing all this stuff since before the internet and all that. I work with hundreds of newspapers each year, hundreds of newspapers attend my webinars and on everything from software to sales, to being a publisher, to being an editor, you name it, I teach it and that's because I've worked with thousands and thousands of newspapers from the biggest in the country to little tiny papers all over the place. Hey, I'm really looking forward to being with you. They've got me speaking on a variety of topics. I think I've built workshops at your convention. I've been key noting several conventions in the eastern half of the country over the last few weeks and I'm going to get to take a break and just do some workshops at your convention. I'm gonna be talking about Indesign. I'm going to be talking about how to design a better paper. So let me tell you, that's for everybody. It's not just for designers, publishers, editors, everybody needs to know how to have a better looking product. We're going to be talking about creating more effective advertising. So your design people will want to be there, your advertising, your ad reps, ad managers, you'll want to be there. We're going to be talking about how get more people to pick up your paper. These are things I talk about all the time. I meet with newspapers every week in person. I speak at conventions all the time. I'm online with newspapers. I just left a newspaper in Nebraska a few minutes ago and I'm really looking forward to being with you because these days I only go places I really want to go with people I really like to be with and I had such a good time in Colorado last year.
