• You know, the Secure Horizons programs over the past 3 years, um, they take place right before GSX. They've created instant value for me professionally and personally. In these sessions we've explored topics of influence, professional branding, leadership, critical ways of thinking and a depth that goes way beyond the normal hour-long webinar or education session. Best part is I've been able to apply these concepts and the content immediately to my work.
• What does it mean to be in a room full of people who understand your specific challenges in the security field?
• You know, walking through the Secure Horizons program with peers adds incredible value to the learning experience. There's lots of opportunities to collaborate on the concepts that we're exploring in the course, share our experiences and learn as much from each other as we do from the facilitators. And the opportunity obviously to continue to build our networks and meet new colleagues from different parts of our security industry has proven to be just as valuable as is the content we explore.
• What key takeaways did you learn from Secure Horizons?
• There are so many takeaways from the Secure Horizons program. Over the past 3 years, I've walked away with practical ways to build the influence that I have with our C-suite as an example. I've also been able to really look at leadership and what it means, not just to me, but to those that I work with. And then of course there is the way to think about things, you know, we all find ourselves getting comfortable with how we look at the world, but being challenged in these sessions to push out of our comfort zones and try a different perspective has reinvigorated my passion for what I do.
